Mancos State Park

Mancos State Park in Southwestern Colorado is a haven for the year-round outdoor enthusiast and traveler.

In the spring, summer, and fall, canoeists, kayakers and wakeless power boaters enjoy the calm waters of Jackson Gulch Reservoir. In the winter, depending on conditions, there are great opportunities for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and ice fishing. Fishing enthusiasts enjoy excellent fishing for yellow perch and rainbow trout. Travelers from other parts of the state and country use Mancos State Park as their camping headquarters when they visit the numerous attractions in the area, including Mesa Verde National Park, the San Juan Skyway, Public Lands, and Durango.

Current Conditions

The boat ramp is closed for the rest of the season due to low water levels. Hand-launched vessels are still allowed, but motorized vessels must be inspected before launching.

Montezuma County has instituted a fire ban. Wood-burning campfires and open burning are prohibited; charcoal and gas grilling are allowed in designated fire rings or grills.

Reserve a Yurt at Mancos

Mancos State Park’s two yurts provide visitors with an alternative to RV and tent camping and the yurts can be reserved year-round.

Camping

Mancos is a great place to camp. Set in a beautiful ponderosa forest, the upper loop of the main campground and both yurts remain open through the winter. The park is centrally located to a wide variety of local attractions.
