Vega’s five accessible rustic cabins offer a great starting point for exploring the top of Grand Mesa National Forest or recreating at Vega reservoir. Nestled in a lush grove of aspens in the Pioneer Campground, the cabins offer the perfect backcountry escape. During winter months, the cabins offer easy access to snow-sledding hills, snowmobile trails on the Grand Mesa, and ice fishing.
The rustic wooden cabins sleep a maximum of six. Each cabin is heated by propane stoves and equipped with electric lights, outlets, a small refrigerator and a microwave oven. Each cabin has a picnic table and fire grate outdoors, with easy accessibility and a paved parking lot. Direct access to the Grand Mesa for four-wheelers and snowmobiles is conveniently available from the cabin parking area.
Pets are allowed in three of the cabins for a $10 per night fee. Corrals are located adjacent to the cabins. The corrals are $10.00 per head per night and a one-time reservation fee of $10.00. No water is available at the corrals; please bring buckets or a 100-foot minimum hose. All hay fed on Colorado State Parks or United States Forest Service property must be certified weed-free.
Vault toilets and water are centrally located. During summer months, coin-operated showers and flush toilets are available in the Camper Services building.
