Hunting

Hunting in the park is controlled and permitted in the Jefferson County portion of the park only. Hunting is allowed from the Tuesday after Labor Day through the Friday prior to Memorial Day.

NEW 2022: Per regulation, hunters must make a reservation by calling 1-800-244-5613 or at www.cpwshop.com.

Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance and are limited to 15 hunters per day. All hunting reservations made, regardless of species, are valid for one day only. All Colorado Parks & Wildlife and Golden Gate Canyon State Park rules and regulations apply.

Green Ranch

Limited access permits are available for the elk hunting program on the Green Ranch portion of the park. For specific information on the Green Ranch, visit our Green Ranch Web page.

Information on seasons and regulations are available at the park office. All Colorado Parks and Wildlife regulations apply when hunting in Golden Gate Canyon State Park.
