Golden Gate Canyon State Park

More than 12,000 acres of dense forest, rocky peaks, and aspen-rimmed meadows laced with miles of trails awaiting the hiker, horseback rider, mountain biker and winter sports enthusiast at Golden Gate State Park.

Park Visitors: Let Us Know Trail Needs

With 35 miles of park trails, it’s challenging for staff to monitor all of them. Therefore, if you are hiking or out enjoying trails and see any issues, such as downed trees on the trail or trail repairs needed, let the park know by filling out the Trail Maintenance Request Form. This helps the maintenance/trail crew know of needed fixes earlier so they are able to fix them in a more timely manner. We appreciate your help!

Hunting Information

Hunting on the park is CLOSED for the season.

• Hunting is allowed on the Jefferson County portion of the park the Tuesday after Labor Day through the Friday prior to Memorial Day.
• NEW 2022: Per regulation, hunters must make a reservation by calling 1-800-244-5613 or at www.cpwshop.com​.
• Reservations can be made up to 14 days in advance and are limited to 15 hunters per day.
• All Colorado Parks & Wildlife and Golden Gate Canyon State Park rules and regulations apply.

Campground Updates

All sites must be reserved ahead of time online or by calling 1-800-244-5613.

Please do not tie anything to trees, this includes hammocks.

Our backcountry campsites​ are hike-in sites only and available via reservation by calling 1-800-244-5613 or at www.cpwshop.com.

NO CAMPFIRES ALLOWED IN THE BACKCOUNTRY.
