Amphitheater

The Reverend’s Ridge amphitheater hosts educational programs on most weekends during the summer. Call the campground office for information at (303) 642-3856.

Cabins and Yurts

There are five camper cabins and two yurts in Reverend’s Ridge Campground. They accommodate a maximum of six people each. Cabins and Yurts are open year-round. Please call 1-800-244-5613 to make your reservation.

Campgrounds

From Memorial Day to early October there are 132 campsites in two campgrounds: Reverend’s Ridge and Aspen Meadow.

  • Reverend’s Ridge offers 38 tent sites and 59 sites with electrical hook-ups. Facilities at Reverend’s Ridge include flush toilets, shower, ice machine, laundry facilities, and a dump station.
  • Aspen Meadow offers 35 tent sites and vault toilets.

Golden Gate also offers 20 backcountry hike-in tent sites and four backcountry shelters. Sites/shelters are at least a 1.5 mile hike from the nearest parking.

  • Backcountry sites are reservation only.

Dump Station

The dump station is currently open for the season. Campers can use the dump station if they have a reservation in an RV site. A vehicle pass is also required. The dump station is located in the Reverend’s Ridge Campground.

Group Campground

Rifleman Phillips Group Campground is available for groups up to 75 people. This campground is for tent campers only. The Works Ranch area is a combination cabin and tent camping site. It can accommodate up to 30 people. For more information and reservations please call the visitor center at (303) 582-3707.

Group Picnic Area

The Red Barn Group Picnic Area can accommodate up to 150 people by reservation only at 1-800-244-5613 or www.cpwshop.com.

Horse Trailer Parking

Kriley Overlook, Nott Creek, and the Aspen Meadow Campground entrance lot are our most horse trailer-friendly parking areas. Please call if you will have multiple trailers in your group.

Picnic Sites

There are 125 scenic picnic sites throughout the park. Several are located along Ralston Creek on Crawford Gulch Road and along Mountain Base Road at Ole’ Barn Knoll and Bootleg Bottom. Please note all picnic areas along Mountain Base Road are inaccessible until the road is opened. All sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and include a table and charcoal grills for cooking. ADA-accessible picnic tables are located at Kriley Pond, Bootleg Bottom, Panorama Point, and Bridge Creek. Picnic sites can be located on the park map available under the Maps and Directions page.

Showers

Showers and laundry facilities are located at Reverend’s Ridge Campground and are available for use from Memorial Day until they are closed for the winter season in mid-October.

Stables or Corrals

Our beautiful Harmsen Ranch Guest House has 2 horse corrals with water available (summer only). Please note that use of these corrals is restricted to visitors who rent Harmsen Ranch Guest House. Please see the Guest House information page.

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is located at the intersection of Golden Gate Canyon Road (Highway 46) and Crawford Gulch Road. Days and hours of operation vary according to season. Please call (303) 582-3707 for additional information.

Wedding Facilities

The mountain splendor of Golden Gate Canyon State Park’s wildflower meadows and glorious autumn colors make this park a great location for weddings or events. Golden Gate Canyon’s rustic Red Barn Group Picnic area can be rented out for ceremonies, receptions, reunions, or other events.

No events or ceremonies of any kind can take place at Panorama Point.
