Elkhead Reservoir State Park

Elkhead Reservoir State Park, located in the beautiful Yampa Valley of northwest Colorado, is an oasis in the high desert. This 2,100-acre park features a 900-acre reservoir and provides endless recreational opportunities, including (but not limited to) boating, swimming, jet skiing, skiing, picnicking, wildlife watching, hiking, camping, meeting friends and neighbors, bird watching, biking, horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and many photo opportunities. With 10.5 miles of trails and over 212 bird species, Elkhead offers diverse outdoor experiences.
No Water Hydrants or Dump Stations Available
- The Elkhead Campgrounds, Bears Ears & Pronghorn do not have water hydrants or dump station.
- If you stay at either of the campgrounds at Elkhead, you can use the dump station at Yampa River State Park.
