Boat Ramps

The North Boat Ramps, located on the northwest side of the reservoir, have eight launch lanes and four courtesy docks. The South Boat Ramp, located on the southeast side of the reservoir, has two launch lanes and one courtesy dock. The courtesy docks are available seasonally, check the Boating page for updated information.

Camper Services Building

Camper’s Services Office for all your recreation needs. Open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We sell Parks Passes, fishing and hunting licenses, as well as boat, OHV, and snowmobile registrations.

Campgrounds

Chatfield offers modern camping on 197 sites, all with electrical hook-ups and 145 with full hookups.

Reservations for individual sites and group sites can be made the day you plan to arrive at the park or up to six months in advance by calling ​1-800-244-5613 or reserving online.

Electric Vehicle Charging Station

Located at the Park Office, accessible by either the Plum Creek or Deer Creek Entrance.

Group Campground

Chatfield has ten group camp areas that may be reserved by calling ​1-800-244-5613. Reservations can be made a max of 6 months in advance. For additional information, visit the Camping page. Also check the Park’s home page for any fire restrictions.

Group Picnic Area

There are four, reservable Group Picnic Areas throughout the park. These areas are extremely popular, and reservations can be made up to 6 months prior to your event. For reservations please call, ​1-800-244-5613.

Marina

Chatfield has a full-service marina offering slip rentals, boat rentals, boat storage and grill. Please contact the Marina for information at (303) 791-5555 or check their website. Services are available seasonally.

Model Airplane Field

Chatfield provides paved runways, frequency posts and field regulations for radio-controlled aircraft in the designated Model Airplane Field. See Chatfield’s Park Activities page for more information and regulations.

Park Office

The Chatfield State Park office is located inside the park on the east side, toward the middle of the reservoir, between the Heronry Picnic Area and the campground.

Office hours (state holidays excepted): Mon.- Fri., 8 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. We are not open on the weekends, please visit our new campground office, open 7 days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Picnic Sites

There are multiple picnic areas located throughout the park that are available on a first come, first served basis. You are welcome to use those sites any day of the year from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Please remember to pick up and dispose of your trash appropriately, and if you use a grill, the coals need to be cold before leaving them unattended.

Showers

Showers are located seasonally at the swim beach. These showers are coin-operated (quarters only). The use of the shower facilities facilities is for park guests only.

There are additional showers available in the campground. These facilities are only for the use of campers with valid campground reservations.

Stables or Corrals

Big Horn Stables offers horse rentals, trail rides, riding lessons, day camp with horses, hayrides and boarding at Chatfield. Call (720) 520-2661 or visit www.bighornstables.com for rates, hours and other information.

Swim Beach

The Swimbeach is open seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hours of operation are sunrise to sunset every day. Children under 12 must have adult supervision. No lifeguard on duty. Swim at your own risk.

Trails

A series of over 26 miles of trails winds through the Chatfield area and provides the park visitor with an abundance of recreational opportunities. Please observe all caution signs. For more information, please visit the Trails page.
