Winter Activities

​​​​​While the Vail Valley is known for world-class ski resorts, there is a different kind of adventure waiting for you at Sylvan Lake State Park in the winter. Visitors can enjoy a full-moon snowshoe hike, launch snowmobile tours, dip a line for ice fishing, watch the Bald Eagles that nest by the lake, or try to identify the numerous tracks. Some visitors have even cleared off a spot on the lake and made a rink for ice hockey. And, the gentle hills make a perfect place to bring the kids sledding. The cabins are available to rent year-round, so visitors can stay warm and cozy as they watch the snow fly.
