Cabins and Yurts

We offer eight small camper cabins and one large cabin located near the lake available for year-round rental. There are three yurts located on East Brush Creek, 9 1/2 miles from the lake, that are available mid-May to mid-November. The large cabin sleeps 12; the yurts and camper cabins can sleep 5 people comfortably, 6 with the provided cot.

Camper Services Building

Located in Elk Run Campground, the camper services building provides flush toilets and coin-operated showers. The showers cost $1 for the first four minutes, and $.25 for each additional minute. Showers and flush toilets are available mid-May through early November, weather depending. A valid camping permit or cabin/yurt reservation is required.

Campgrounds

There are 44 basic campsites at Elk Run and Fisherman’s Paradise. There are vault toilets (open year-round) and water spigots (open seasonally) available around the campground. A dump station is available mid-May through October. Our park is off grid, so there are no electric hookup sites available at Sylvan Lake.

Conference Rooms

Located in the Visitor Center, this room can accommodate up to 30 people. Call the park at (970) 328-2021 to inquire about reserving the conference room.

Dump Station

A dry dump station is accessible May through October, depending on the weather. A valid camping permit is required.

Group Campground

A spacious group campsite is available for groups of up to 60 people from mid-May through October. The site has a separate vault toilet, as well as picnic tables and fire rings. Reservations are required and can be made six months in advance by visiting cpwshop.com.

Picnic Sites

The Day Use Area next to the lake has a number of picnic sites located in a grassy area by the shore. Meadows Day Use has 6 picnic sites along the banks of West Brush Creek. There are also picnic tables along East Brush Creek, all available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Showers

Pay showers are available in the Camper Services building. $1.00 for the first four minutes, and $.25 for each additional minute. Showers are available mid-May through the beginning of November, weather dependent. There are change machines available that accept $1 and $5 bills.

Trails

The 1.5 mile Sylvan Lake Trail provides fishing access and a relaxing walk.

The 5.8 mile West Brush Creek Trail connects The Meadows Day Use Area to the campground and lake.

Popular trails on the surrounding White River National Forest - Sneve Gulch, McKenzie Gulch, Nolan Lake, Lake Charles and Ironedge are all good options. Stop at the Visitor Center for information, maps, and current trail conditions.

Visitor Center

Browse educational displays, clothing, pick up a book or a gift, purchase park passes and permits for camping, register OHVs, snowmobiles and boats.

The Visitor Center is 10 miles south of Eagle on Brush Creek Road. Open 8am to 4pm daily as staffing permits. Please call (970) 328-2021 to ensure a staff member will be available during the winter months.
