Accessible Facilities

Accessible campsites, some accessible features at the visitor center, some accessible features at restroom buildings and picnic areas, some accessible features at one of the cabins and an accessible fishing area are available at the park. ​

Boat Ramps

Navajo State Park’s boat ramp is one of the longest in the state, extending 110 feet to the river channel. Launching is permitted only after an inspection for aquatic nuisance species. The boat ramp is closed Dec. 1 until March 1 and may freeze in January and February. Call the park at (970) 883-2208 to inquire.

Cabins and Yurts

The park has three furnished 2 bedroom cabins, each with its own flush restroom and shower. Please see the Ca​bins​ page for additional information.

Campgrounds

Navajo’s campgrounds have 118 RV and tent sites with showers and flush toilets, and are reservable from the day of arrival to 6 months in advance. Reservations are required.

  • Carracas Campground features 41 RV sites with individual electric hook-ups.
  • Rosa Campground has 39 RV sites with individual electric, water and sewer hook-ups and eight tent sites.
  • Tiffany Campground has 23 basic sites, six tent sites and three cabins.
  • The primitive campsites at Windsurf Beach and Arboles Point are now available for reservation.
  • Camper services buildings in all three developed campgrounds have showers and flush facilities and are open April 15-October 15.
  • There is also a self service laundry in the Rosa Camper Services Building.

Group Picnic Area

Two group picnic areas with upright grills, picnic tables and water are available for reservation through the Visitor Center. The picnic area near the Visitor Center is covered and has electric outlets and lights as well. Accessible parking is available at both picnic areas. Call (970) 883-2208 for reservations and information.

Marina

Navajo State Park has its own full-service marina. Two Rivers Marina sells fuel, ice, tackle, boating supplies, snacks and accessories; has boat slips and mooring buoys; and has rental pontoon boats.

Showers

Showers are available at each of the developed campgrounds; Rosa, Carracas and Tiffany. Showers are for registered campers and are free of charge.

Trails

Navajo has several designated trails throughout the park and miles of outstanding areas to hike along the San Juan River. Mountain bikes are permitted in the park. Horseback riding is permitted only along the San Juan River off County Road 500.

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is located at the park entrance and is currently open 7 days a week from 8 am - 4 pm. The hours of operation vary with the season and will increase as staff come on for the season. Services and features include archeological, geologic, historic and wildlife displays, brochures, a bookstore, the sale of passes, registrations, fishing licenses, and more.
