Camping

Camping at all state parks now requires a reservation.

Year-round camping is available, but please check winter availability below.

  • Summer camping (April 1 - October 31) - Summer weekends fill fast, with off-peak times providing quieter experiences.
  • Winter camping (November 1st - March 31st) - Abilene and Coyote Loops are the ONLY loops available in the winter. Campsites are by reservation only.
    • Dump Station is closed for the winter, but will reopen April 1.

Campground amenities include:

  • Deluxe full hook-up sites (20, 30, & 50 amp sites)
  • Basic tent sites
  • Showers and laundry facilities (possible seasonal closures)
  • Dump Station (seasonal closure in winter season)

Quiet hours are observed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

It’s illegal to dump waste, sewage, including dishwater, onto the ground or in the water. Please use the dump station located by the campground entrance if necessary.

Firewood can be purchased at the campground. Please help us protect our natural resources; do not gather wood for your fires.

Group Campsites

Group sites are most popular on summer weekends and advance reservations are required by calling the Camper Registration Office at (303) 690-1166.

The group campsites offer electric only hook-ups. Water and sewer is available at the dump station near the entrance to the campground. The dump station offers potable and non-potable water.

  • Chief Ouray site will accommodate 72 people
  • Cherokee and Arapahoe each accommodate up to 36 people

Amphitheater

The outdoor Amphitheater is located in the campground and offers bench seating, a podium and a fire pit. It will accommodate groups up to 100 people.
