Archery Range

The range is FREE to use. A park pass is required for entry into the park. There are 12 lanes from 10-100 yards. A broadhead lane has been installed. Our 3D range is now open for the season. Standard practice tips only. No broadheads allowed. Crossbows are only allowed on the static range, with user-supplied targets only.

Boat Ramps

The Barr Lake boat ramp is located on the east side of the lake and accessed through the main entrance. Boating is only allowed on the North end of the lake, and only motors 10hp or less are allowed to be used. ANS inspections are mandatory prior to launch for all trailered or motorized vessels.

Duck Blinds

During waterfowl and dove season, hunters can reserve blinds north of the Barr Lake dam by calling (800) 244-5613.

  • Reservations can be made between 2 days and 2 weeks in advance of the hunting date.
  • One specially designed blind is available for hunters with disabilities.

Fishing Piers

The new ADA accessible fishing pier opened at the end of May 2019, giving people of all abilities the chance to catch that BIG fish.

Group Picnic Area

The Meadowlark Picnic Pavilion is available for group rental by calling 303-659-6005. The pavilion has capacity for 100 people, two charcoal grills, 15 universally accessible picnic tables, counters, electricity, running water, adjacent restrooms, horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, and access to nature trails and the Nature Center. See Barr Lake’s Group Picnic Pavilion page for additional information. The Pavilion is a great place for weddings, family reunions, or business events.

Visitor Center

The Barr Lake Nature Center is located near the south parking lot. Visitors can see displays about the park’s wildlife and have their questions answered by a volunteer or staff member. Fishing and hunting licenses can be purchased at the Nature Center, and your boat or off-highway vehicles can be registered. Currently, the Nature Center is open every day from 9 am to 4 pm. Call (303) 659-6005 for information about upcoming programs or to arrange a program for your group.
