Park Facilities

Boat Ramps

There are 12 access points on the Yampa River along the 134-mile Yampa River State Park stretch of the river from Hayden to the Dinosaur National Monument on the Utah line.

The following areas have boat ramps:

  • Hayden Pump Station
  • South Beach
  • Duffy Mountain
  • Juniper Canyon
  • Maybell Bridge
  • Cross Mountain
  • ​Yampa River Headquarters Campground

Camper Services Building

The camper services building is OPEN. The headquarters campground offers campers showers and laundry facilities. These facilities are for campground guests only. The shower house closes at 10pm and opens again at 8am.

Campgrounds

The Headquarters campground near Hayden, has 35 electric RV sites, 14 basic tent sites, 2 tipis, and a camper services building (showers and laundry facilities available).

Potable water hydrants and dump station are located at the entrance to the campground.

There are five primitive campgrounds with river access along the 134-mile segment of the river from Hayden to the Dinosaur National Monument​. Each primitive camping area has between five and 10 campsites.

Along various stretches of the river, undeveloped camping opportunities also exist. Refer to the Yampa River Area brochure​ for more information.

The Headquarters campground near Hayden, CO has a conference room available for rent; $100.00 per day.

Group Picnic Area

Yampa River offers picnic sites at all 13 river access sites. See the Yampa River Brochure and Map.

The Headquarters campground also has a group picnic area that can be reserved by calling (970) 276-2061.

Showers

The Headquarters campground has showers and laundry facilities which require quarters. The showers and laundry facilities are for campground guests only.

Visitor Center

The Visitor Center is located at the Headquarters campground near Hayden, Colorado. The Visitor Center provides visitor and traveler information as well as maps and other printed resources.

Wedding Facilities

Yampa River State Park is a beautiful place to have your wedding. There are many areas to choose from in the park, but the most popular are the sites located near the beautiful Yampa River.

The Park also has a conference room ideal for last minute details. Please call the park office (970) 276-2061 with any questions or to make reservations.
